EU AI Act Compliance for FinTech & Financial Services
Credit scoring, insurance underwriting, and access to essential financial services face heightened scrutiny under the EU AI Act. Know your risk classification before your next audit.
Financial services are among the most affected sectors under the EU AI Act. AI systems used to evaluate creditworthiness, assess life or health insurance risk, or allocate access to essential public or private services fall under Annex III as high-risk applications. Systems used solely to detect financial fraud are excluded from the creditworthiness category (Annex III point 5(b)). High-risk operator duties for these Annex III systems apply from 2 December 2027.
